There is a bookmark with Therese of Lisieux on it that was given to me back in my Advanced French class in college. I've always enjoyed it and I decided to draw a sketch of it.

The color's in this are soft enough that they blend nicely but the contrast is strong enough to give you the impression of three dimensions. Still working on the contrast for future works.

The red hue tint that I gave to this picture does give an emphasis to the shadows and gives contrast, but at the expense of softer edges which make for a more peaceful image.
